There's something familiar about the "New Normal"

One of the significant challenges faced by many of us during this COVID pandemic is our loss of sense of normalcy. It's meaning is something different to various people, but that hasn't changed its importance. The narrative of late has shifted to what the "new normal" will be and suffice to say, no one really knows. Will people dine outside more? Will businesses continued the increased emphasis on cleanliness and provide hand sanitizing stations for years to come? Will Zoom be used on a weekly/daily basis like it is now? Will masks become a more regular thing like in China? So many questions that in the year ahead we will come to find out.

Here at the Chamber, we ask those same questions and struggle with the same challenges in that most everything is very different today than it was 6 months ago. That's why we're excited to bring back a familiar event next week that has become something our members and fellow business leaders look forward to every fall - the 4th Annual Women in Business Breakfast. Once again we have a lineup of successful women business leaders to share how they got where they are today, their challenges they've overcome or face and hopes and dreams for the future. And while we're saddened we cannot do it in person this year, the stories and the inspiration are still there. I encourage you to join us on Zoom on Friday, October 9th at 8:00am to be part of this exciting annual event sponsored by the Gardner Edgerton and Spring Hill Chambers of Commerce.

We're especially grateful to our partners for this year's event - Groundhouse Coffee and The Bean Coffee Co. We've created a ticket package whereby your $20 ticket gets you a $10 gift card to the location of your choice to use for breakfast that day or at a future time. Or you can choose to host a watch party at your office or other location for just $150, which also scores you breakfast (coffee and pastries) from either location. And thanks to our generous student sponsors, Johnson County Community College and Trails West Ace Hardware, high school and college students can attend for FREE and will get a $5 gift card from one of those aforementioned coffee shops. Three great ways to take part in this annual event and support your local chambers of commerce. Registration is open and as always, email Jason if you have any questions.

We hope that you will join us next Friday and keep the "normal" as normal can be at this time.
