New Century Air Center is arguably the most unrecognized asset in our community. With over 70+ years of history, it has been a staple of life in Gardner for almost all living generations. The airport has played host to everyone from the President of the United States to Astronaut John Glenn to pilot trainee and television host Bob Barker. But for now, it makes its impact known as an economic engine with over 4,000 private industry jobs and a $1.3 billion dollar impact. Products produced by businesses at New Century range from Dukes Mayonnaise to food product bonding agents. The Johnson County Jail is located there. Garmin operates hangars on site.
