We are seeking a compassionate, dependable Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to provide one-on-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in the Johnson County area. This is an excellent opportunity for students, retirees, healthcare workers, teachers, direct support professionals, or anyone seeking meaningful evening work with flexible supplemental hours. Immediate Schedule Need Monday: 7:15 PM - 9:45 PM Thursday: 7:30 PM - 9:45 PM Friday: 7:00 PM - 9:45 PM Want more hours? Additional client opportunities are available throughout Johnson County. What You'll Do As a Personal Care Attendant, you'll help a client build confidence, independence, and daily living skills through personalized one-on-one support. Every shift is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. Responsibilities may include: Assisting with daily living and independent living skills Meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation Supporting household organization, cleaning, and laundry Providing transportation to work, appointments, and community activities Breaking tasks into manageable steps and encouraging success Using reminders, cueing, modeling, and hands-on assistance when needed Reinforcing positive coping skills and problem-solving strategies Communicating important health and safety information with families Completing electronic service documentation What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Reliable vehicle and transportation Current automobile insurance Ability to pass background and driving record checks Preferred Qualifications (Not Required) Experience supporting individuals with autism, Down syndrome, or other developmental disabilities Direct Support Professional (DSP), PCA, caregiving, healthcare, or human services experience Experience teaching or supporting life skills CPR and First Aid certification Education or training related to special needs support Why People Enjoy This Role Meaningful one-on-one relationships Flexible part-time evening schedule Additional hours available if desired Supportive non-profit organization Opportunity to help someone live and work independently Rewarding work that truly matters
