Seeds of Empowerment for Teens
This art class is designed for teens who are navigating the transition from childhood to adulthood. The session begins with a guided imagery aimed at exploring identity. Movement is optional depending on your preference (in your minds eye conceptually or physically in a clear space bubble in the room) . Participants will use what's generated during the warm up exercise or something completely different to paint a ceramic pot using provided art materials. Choice of color, symbols, texture can all express your personal identity. Each teen will plant a sprout as a living symbol of growth, responsibility and emerging independence. The emphasis is on self expression, agency and creativity in a supportive environment. No need for experience only curiosity to practice expressing your personal voice. Leave with a planted pot to care for at home and as a tangible reminder that growth takes time, attention and patience during periods of change.
